How does automatic tracking work?
Once you grant "Always" location permission, Routio detects when you start and stop driving and logs each trip in the background — no need to open the app. You can review and classify trips later.
Why does Routio need background location?
To record drives automatically while you're on the road and your phone is in your pocket or mounted. Without background location, you'd have to start and stop every trip by hand. Your location never leaves your device and your private iCloud.
How do I classify a drive as business or personal?
On the home screen, swipe a drive or tap it to set it as Business or Personal. Routio learns your regular routes and can classify similar trips automatically.
How do I get my mileage for taxes?
Open Reports for monthly and year-to-date totals, or the Year-End Tax Package for a Schedule C summary you can export as a PDF or CSV.
Will my drives sync to my other devices?
Yes — if iCloud sync is enabled (it's on by default), your drives sync through your own private iCloud account, so they appear on all your devices signed in to the same Apple ID. No account or password needed.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions, select Routio, and you can change or cancel there. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open Routio's paywall or Settings and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID you subscribed with.
