Privacy Policy

Routio is built so your driving data stays yours. We don't require an account, we don't run ad or analytics trackers, and your drives are never sold or sent to our servers.
The short version
- Routio works without any account — we never ask for your name, email, or password.
- Your location and drive history are stored on your device and synced only to your own private iCloud. We cannot see them.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Location data
To detect and record your drives, Routio uses your device's location in the foreground and background. This location data is used solely to log trips, calculate mileage, and draw your routes on the map. It is processed on your device and stored in the app's local database. If you enable iCloud sync, it is also stored in your personal iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database) so your drives appear on your other devices. This data is never transmitted to Routio's servers and is never shared with or sold to third parties. You can disable background tracking at any time in iOS Settings, and iCloud sync in the app's Settings.
Purchases & subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store and managed with RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. When you start a trial or subscribe, RevenueCat processes your purchase and receives the purchase event together with an anonymous, app-generated identifier used to keep track of your subscription status across your devices. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity (there is no account) and is used only to deliver the features you paid for. Apple processes the payment itself; Routio never sees your card or billing details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.
Analytics & tracking
Routio does not include third-party advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not build advertising profiles. No identifier is used for tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
Data retention & deletion
Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in full control of it. You can delete any drive in the app, export your data, or remove all data by deleting the app and clearing Routio's data from iCloud in iOS Settings. We hold no copy to delete on our side.
Children
Routio is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and revise the date above.
